Main Street Murfreesboro’s “Scarecrows Downtown” contest brings creativity to the heart of our city. Open to artists of all ages, the competition welcomes businesses, civic groups, churches, community organizations, and families to join in the fun. Thank you to everyone who participated this year.
1st Place Peoples Choice Scarecrow Winner
Rutherford County Building & Codes Dolly Parton tribute scarecrow hit all the right notes with downtown visitors, earning the most votes in this year’s contest!
2nd Place Peoples Choice Scarecrow Winner
City Tile & Flooring’s Minions brought mischief and smiles to Scarecrows Downtown, earning second place in People’s Choice!
3rd Place Peoples Choice Scarecrow Winner
Marina’s on the Square's Italian chef scarecrow served up plenty of charm! Visitors voted this restaurant-inspired creation into third place in People’s Choice.
1st Place Judges Choice Scarecrow Winner
The Rutherford County Election Commission's Monopoly-themed display passed GO and landed in first place! Featuring a fun Murfreesboro song, this entry gave the classic board game a local twist.
2nd Place Judges Choice Scarecrow Winner
The Tennessee Veterans Home’s scarecrow found its October home at Boro Bourbon & Brews. Their entry earned second place in this year’s Judges’ Choice awards.
3rd Place Judges Choice Scarecrow Winner
The Minions did it again! City Tile earned third place in Judges’ Choice, making their entry a winner with both downtown visitors and the judges.
Scarecrows That Support Small Businesses
While people came to enjoy the scarecrows, they also grabbed lunch, shopped, or discovered a new favorite business. That circulation of dollars directly supports our small businesses, keeps money local, and strengthens the heartbeat of downtown.
