You might need a sweater this Saturday. Fall is in the air at the Saturday Market, and our vendors are adding cool-weather produce to the last of the summer harvest. Yes, you can still get tomatoes and peppers, but vendor tables are also stocked with cabbages, broccoli, and kale. The delight in shopping at a local farmer's market is in finding and eating seasonal produce.

We also love that our market offers both a variety of fresh food selections and work from local artisans and makers. This week, check out the candles, ceramics, hand-knitted socks and scarves, woodworking, and jewelry. We have fresh bakery goods on every side of the market, so be sure to try something new--or stick with your tried and true favorite. One of our toddler customers has a spinach and feta pastry every Saturday. 

Make the Saturday Market part of your celebration of fall. Join us downtown through October 25, from 8-noon, around the historic Rutherford County Courthouse.

This Saturday is the last day to pick up a new Passport Card for October. There are four weeks in October, and you only need to get three visits stamped to enter the October Gift Basket Drawing. Come by our market information tent, and we will give you a new card. No purchase is necessary. It's our thank you to loyal market customers. The October winner will receive a gift basket with over $75 worth of products from the Saturday Market. 

Main Street Murfreesboro’s “Scarecrows Downtown” contest brings creativity to the heart of our city. The competition invited businesses, civic groups, churches, community organizations, and families to make a scarecrow. Now, you can use this map to guide your walking tour and explore the amazing displays throughout downtown. To vote, scan the QR code attached to your favorite Scarecrow and enter to win a $25 gift card! Voting runs through October 31.  The Scarecrow with the most votes wins $25.  

Three judges' selections will be announced on October 13. The 1st place Scarecrow wins $100, 2nd place $75, and 3rd place $50.  A big thank you to all of our participating community artists for creating a Scarecrow and making downtown so much fun this Fall!
