Saturday Market Newsletter October 4, 2025
Celebrate the October Saturday Market
We have four more weeks of the 2025 Saturday Market Season, and we are pulling out all the stops to make this a celebration of all good things about our fall farmer's market.
It's Christmas in October at the market and want to encourage you to do your gift shopping early. Buy local. Buy handmade. Buy quality. Our vendors (with some help from a special holiday elf) are spotlighting products that would make excellent gifts. Watch for weekly highlights on Facebook (Murfreesboro Saturday Market).
Music, music, music. We have local musicians lined up for October to make you tap your feet and stop for a minute or two to listen and smile. That's the fun of shopping at our outdoor farmer's market.
A fall-fest photo area opens this Saturday, courtesy of Southland Farms. Get a fall market photo surrounded by mums, balloons, and pumpkins. It's free. Just snap your photos. We love it if you share them with us.
And finally, our growers are bringing in fall produce, so take advantage of getting fresh from the field and greenhouse veggies. This is also the time to stock up on locally raised beef and chicken. You know where these products come from.
Join us for the next four weeks in October, every Saturday from 8-noon, around the historic Rutherford County Courthouse, and get your new October Passport Card this Saturday.

Welcome Davey Tree as our Market Sponsor
Sophie Buck, Back on October 4
This week, we are excited to have Sophie Buck back as our Saturday Market Musician. Sophie played at the market all through her college years at MTSU and is now teaching violin and playing professionally in the Nashville area. Ask about her newest CD release on Saturday, and thanks to our customers who are always so supportive of the local musicians who bring their talent to the Saturday Market.
October Passport Cards Are Ready
GET YOUR OCTOBER PASSPORT Card on Saturday. Four weeks in October, and you only need to get three visits stamped to enter the October Gift Basket Drawing. Come by our market information tent, and we will give you a new card. No purchase is necessary. It's our thank you to loyal market customers. The October winner will receive a gift basket with over $75 worth of products from the Saturday Market.
Welcome Back Friends of the Library-Free Books
This Saturday, The Friends of the Linebaugh Library will be at the market giving away free books, DVDs, and CDs. It's always a favorite stop for our market customers and reminder of how much we all rely on volunteers to keep Murfreesboro and Rutherford County programs going strong. Stop by their tents and browse the free books.

Help Shape the Future of Downtown Murfreesboro!
Main Street Murfreesboro is gathering community input to guide its next two-year work plan for downtown. Please take a short survey (less than 15 minutes) by October 10 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GSLGV57.
Survey results will help create a Transformation Strategy to support small businesses, promote the Main Street District, and create a vibrant, welcoming downtown. Community Focus Groups will also be held on November 18. To participate, contact Sarah Callender at [email protected].
