Celebrate National Farmers Market Week August 3-9
August 3 marks the start of National Farmer's Market Week, and the Murfreesboro Saturday Market will be highlighting the ways we believe farmers markets are essential to shaping our world. We have been a part of the Murfreesboro Rutherford County community for 15 years, and there are no signs of slowing down. In fact, our market is growing. Since opening day on May 3 through July 19, we have had 19,500 market visitors. Thank you for your constant support.
Farmers markets are designed in partnership with the people they serve and bring about important opportunities for us to learn, grow, and work together. They create a space where market operators, farmers, shoppers, and neighbors can join to meet the needs of our communities. We help put communities in touch with local farmers, growers, and artisans with the goal of making fresh food and locally produced goods available to the people in our area. We need to know where our food comes from, and we are all healthier when we eat fresh, locally produced food, and our communities are stronger when we support local artisans and entrepreneurs.
Our market is a member of The Tennessee Association of Farmers Markets, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering market organizers & vendors across the state by providing valuable resources, support, and knowledge. Their goal is to enhance the overall success of local markets, and provide advocacy within Tennessee’s agriculture community. We aim to connect local farmers & market organizers with consumers, promote sustainable practices, and celebrate fresh, local products statewide.
Follow the Saturday Market on Facebook and learn more about the impact of Farmers Markets across our region and the country. And join us this week on the square from 8-Noon.
