Main Street works to "light up" downtown for the holidays.

There’s something magical about downtown Murfreesboro during the holidays and this year, it just got a whole lot brighter!

Main Street Murfreesboro has purchased brand new Christmas string lights to illuminate the historic square, with the generous support of our community partner, Middle Tennessee Electric.

Thanks to the hard-working “elves” from the City of Murfreesboro Street Department, the lights are now strung overhead, adding a warm, festive glow to our downtown buildings, walkways, and storefronts. Their teamwork and holiday spirit made this project possible, and we are grateful for their time, talent, and ladder-climbing skills!

These new lights are more than just decoration, they help create a welcoming atmosphere for families, shoppers, and visitors throughout the holiday season. Whether you’re enjoying dinner downtown, searching for hidden gnomes, attending the Christmas tree lighting, or simply taking in the seasonal displays in our shop windows, you’ll feel the magic of Christmas shining all around you.
