Vintage Base Ball at the Market June 27
The Association promotes living history by bringing the 19th century to life through base ball events that use the rules, equipment, costumes and culture of the 1860s. They provide cultural enrichment and education programs and activities to youth and adults that emphasize honor, team play, respectful conduct and community pride. Their goal is to encourage a sense of belonging regardless of race, gender, religious conviction or physical ability. The league hosts games at historic venues across the state with free admission and teams are inclusive for men and women of any age, showcasing the history of America's Pastime by playing the game by its original rules encouraging "fair and gentlemanly" conduct and allowing fans to engage with living history through sport. Even the historically-accurate bats used by most of the players and teams in our league are crafted by Murfreesboro-based company Smacker Bats. And yes, the word baseball, in this context is spelled as base ball!

TN Farmers Market Trail Drawing
Did you know that just by stopping at the Murfreesboro Saturday Market you can enter to win a $200 gift card in July from the TN Farmers Market Association? We are one of five Tennessee farmers markets on the new Tennessee Farmers Market Trail, that launched in May. The trail highlights five Middle Tennessee farmers' markets, each offering its own mix of fresh produce, handmade goods, and community charm. Visit a market, scan the QR code, and collect a one-of-a-kind sticker as you go. Every QR code check-in at the market gives you an entry in the drawing for the farmers market gift card. Check the poster at our information tent and the MTSU Football tent to scan the QR code and enter for the July gift card drawing. See the list of markets on the trail at our information tent or at the trail website, linked here.
