A Downtown Legacy: Beckman’s Pharmacy
Main Street Murfreesboro intern Taylor Pennington recently sat down with the owners at Beckman’s Pharmacy to share the story behind one of downtown’s long-standing businesses.

Beckman’s Pharmacy has operated in its current building since 1976 and carries a legacy that stretches back even further. The pharmacy was once located at the historic Polk Hotel. Today, owners Keith and Shannon Beckman continue the family tradition, carrying forward generations of service, care, and commitment to the Murfreesboro community.
In 2026, Beckman’s Pharmacy received Main Street Murfreesboro’s Built to Last Award, recognizing businesses that demonstrate longevity, resilience, and a lasting impact on our historic district. Downtown Murfreesboro thrives because of businesses like Beckman’s, rooted in history and committed to the future.
