Gallagher Guitar Music Festival Announces Its Inaugural Event - GallagherFest 2024

In collaboration with members of the Murfreesboro community, Gallagher Guitar Co. is thrilled to announce the launch of the inaugural Gallagher Guitar Music Festival, referred to as GallagherFest.

This event promises to be a landmark occasion for music enthusiasts, instrumentalists, and fans of all ages.

This eagerly anticipated event is set to take place from May 3rd to May 4th, 2024.  GallagherFest is designed to celebrate the legacy of music and craftsmanship, showcasing an array of musical talents across a variety of genres.  The festival kicks off with an open jam session on Friday night, May 3rd, inviting musicians of all skill levels to participate in a communal music experience.  

The street festival, occuring Saturday, May 4th, is free and open to the public.

It features four competitive instrument contests:  the fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and the prestigious flatpicking guitar contest.  Participants stand a chance to win significant prizes, including cash rewards for fiddle category winners, an Eastman Guitars F-Style MD315 Mandolin for the mandolin contest, a Tone Mastertone banjo OB-3EF for the banjo contest, and a Gallagher G-50 guitar for the flatpicking guitar contest winner.

The festival will culminate in an evening concert headlined by the world-renowned Dan Tyminski Band, with Josh Rinkel and Laura Orshaw of the Po' Ramblin' Boys opening the show.

GallagherFest will host performances by a stellar lineup of artists throughout the day, including Jim Hurst, Chris Jones with Paolo Ercoli, Scott Heuston and Erica Flom, Asher Cataldo and Bryce Reeg, Kristen Ford, David DeVaul, Jesse Black, and Uncle Shuffelo and His Haint Hollow Hootenanny.

Instrument contests include: Banjo, Fiddle, Mandolin, and Guitar-Flatpicking

Instrument contests provide an opportunity to showcase the talent and artistry of musicians who have achieved a high level of skill. To facilitate the process and to manage the limitation of time, anyone who is interested in competing in the contest will need to submit an application with the accompanying fee. These entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will then select the 10 to 12 contestants who will be invited to compete on Saturday, May 4th. The chosen contestants will be listed on the website prior to the event. Applications must be received by April 12th. The application fee is non-refundable.
