Aztec dance group at Murfreesboro Saturday Market on June 20.
Experience the Beauty of Aztec Dance at the Murfreesboro Saturday Market.
Downtown Murfreesboro is at its best when it brings people together, and we're excited to welcome a special cultural experience to the Murfreesboro Saturday Market on Saturday, June 20. Join us at 10:00 am for a free performance by Danza Azteca Quetzalli ("Beautiful Feather"), an Aztec dance group based in Middle Tennessee.
The performance will take place on the grassy lot across from the Rutherford County Courthouse, at the corner of East Main Street and Church Street, and is free and open to the public.
Danza Azteca Quetzalli is dedicated to preserving and sharing Indigenous cultural heritage through traditional danza.
Through performances, cultural presentations, and community events, the group fosters cultural education, community engagement, and intergenerational connection. Their mission is to create opportunities for children, families, and community members to learn about and appreciate Indigenous traditions while promoting cultural pride, unity, and respect.
At Main Street Murfreesboro, we believe experiences like this are an important part of what makes downtown special. The Saturday Market is more than a place to shop for fresh produce and local goods—it's a place where our community gathers, connects, and learns from one another. Offering free arts and cultural programming helps create a welcoming atmosphere where residents and visitors can discover new traditions, celebrate diverse cultures, and enjoy meaningful experiences together.
We invite you to stop by, enjoy the performance, and experience the energy and tradition of Danza Azteca Quetzalli.
Whether you're a regular market shopper or visiting downtown for the first time, we invite you to stop by, enjoy the performance, and experience the energy and tradition of Danza Azteca Quetzalli. Bring your family, grab your market favorites, and spend the morning celebrating culture and community in the heart of Murfreesboro.
