What a Start to the Season!

What an overwhelming response to opening day at the Saturday Market. Thank you market visitors for supporting local growers, farmers, ranchers, bakers, and artisans. Join us again downtown in Murfreesboro this Saturday, May 9 from 8-noon. This week we have a couple of new additions to the vendor lineup. We also welcome the Friends of the Linebaugh Library with their free book giveaway and the Parkinson's Support Group of Murfreesboro to provide information about their program. See you on the square every Saturday through October. Come for breakfast and stay for lunch. Music this week is provided by Miles Damasco Jazz Trio.

Almost 900 Loyalty Cards Given Out

Market visitors claimed almost 900 customer loyalty cards on Saturday. We are printing more for this week. We were happy to see returning customers came back to pick up their cards for this month, and we had many more first time market-goers who heard about the cards on social medial. There are FIVE weeks in May, and you only have to get a stamp for THREE weeks to enter the monthly drawing.

Last year six winners claimed the monthly prizes--vendor gift cards and merchandise from market vendors (valued between $60 and $100). Stop by the Saturday Market information tent and pick up your 2026 May loyalty card on Saturday for free and if you already have your card, get it stamped for your second visit. See you on the square.

Free Books On May 9 from FOLL

Friends of the Linebaugh Library (FOLL) will be back at the Saturday Market on May 9 to give out free books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and other materials. It is their way to promote reading engagement in the community. This group comes to the market every year and they are a big hit with children and adults alike. Stop by their tent on the southwest side of the courthouse. Find them next to the King of Pops popsicle umbrella. *This photo was from last season. Just look at all the free books.

Parkinson's Support Group at the Market

The Murfreesboro Parkinson's Support Group will be at the market this Saturday to share information about their program. They meet monthly at the Saint Clair Street Senior Center. Stop by their tent on Saturday, across from Triple A Farms. They will have materials to share and members of their group on hand for questions.

"Persons with Parkinson's and Care Partners are welcome to our monthly meeting. Meet others who deal with Parkinson's. Our monthly meetings are a mixture of education and community.
