April Biscuits and Business hosted by Transworld Business Advisor Douglas Berger was a great success!

Why is "Biscuits and Business" important for downtown?

Douglas Berger, Transworld Business Advisor in Murfreesboro, wanted to host the April "Biscuits and Business" at his workspace in collaboration with Cultivate Coworking.

“Being part of Main Street Murfreesboro is about more than just networking—it’s about building genuine relationships that strengthen our local business community. Hosting Biscuits & Business in downtown Murfreesboro gave me the opportunity to connect with some incredible people over custom coffee and fresh pastries. A special thank you to Rachelle Ayers for opening up Cultivate Coworking, and to Demitrius Torres of Yellow Door Coffee for the delicious, one-of-a-kind coffee. It’s a great reminder that when local businesses collaborate and support one another, real connections are built, opportunities grow, and the entire community benefits,” said Douglas.

What is the purpose of Biscuits and Business?

Main Street Murfreesboro's strategic goals include supporting and strengthening our downtown small businesses.  One way to do this is by providing a setting for networking with other business owners.  For the past four months businesses have met during the networking events to share what's working and what's not, how they need help from others, and share a little about their business.

"To build a stronger downtown community, we need everyone willing to share with their neighbor.  Share their expertise and share their needs.  We need to know what our neighbor's business is all about in order to create a stronger ecosystem downtown for small businesses to thrive," said Sarah Callender, Executive Director of Main Street Murfreesboro.

May 13 Biscuits and Business hosted by Mind the Gap on Walnut Street.

Biscuits and Business networking.

May is mental health awareness month.  In honor of this important topic, Mind the Gap, located at 112 South Maple Street, is hosting the May 13th Biscuits and Business group at 8:00 am.

Businesses will participate in a "speed connecting" activity focused on mental health as it relates to business ownership.

Mind the Gap will also be coordinating a "Wellness on Walnut" for Mental Health Awareness later in May.  They will create a bingo card for businesses along Walnut Street to participate in and promote to the community, encouraging individuals to engage in small, meaningful wellness activities throughout the month and share on their social media for chances to win prizes!

Register for the May 13 Biscuits and Business Networking Gathering!

Make sure to RSVP HERE FOR BISCUITS AND BUSINESS in for May 13 at 8:00 am.

Bring a friend and neighbor from downtown.  The event is free!  See you in May!
