Main Street Murfreesboro Annual Downtown Celebration
Annual celebration to take place at The Walnut House February 22.
Celebrate with Main Street Murfreesboro on Thursday, February 22 from 4:30-6:00pm at the Walnut House, located at 116 N. Walnut Street. Several annual awards will be given to downtown businesses and the Main Street Board of Directors will celebrate those faithful members who are rolling off.
Downtown property owners celebrated with Design Awards.
Two downtown property owners will be celebrated for their outstanding work on their buildings in 2023 including Boro Bourbon and Brews and Happy's Sports Lounge, by receiving the Design Award.
Domenico's Italian Deli owners Jeff and Scarlet Murphy, will receive the Downtown Business of the Year Award for their community work downtown through their locally owned restaurant.
The Business Partner of the Year Award will be given to Redstone Federal Credit Union for their support above and beyond what was asked in 2023 with Main Street Murfreesboro.
The Doug Young Leadership Award will be presented to a deserving volunteer during the celebration. This person has dedicated years to serving downtown through Main Street and we look forward to highlighting their efforts in the Main Street mission.

Kirk Garrett, past chair of the Main Street board, has supported the Main Street mission through his volunteer work and support while serving as Vice President at Volunteer State Bank.

This annual celebration is a fun, after hours event to attend with your downtown friends and co-workers. From 4:30pm to 5:00pm enjoy drinks and appetizers while mingling with attendees. At 5:00pm Sarah Callender, Executive Director of Main Street Murfreesboro, will highlight and thank supporters who helped Main Street achieve so much in 2023. Ashley McDonald, 2023 board chair and Francela Salas, 2024 board chair, will lead the award ceremonies for our recipients. The event will conclude with the revealing of the Doug Young Leadership Award winner.

Main Street Murfreesboro will be honoring long-serving board members Dr. Gloria Bonner and Sean Gililland as they roll off the board, along with Jonathan Harmon who served a three-year term. New board members voted in for 2024 include: Jeff Murphy, Jessica Seegert, and Dr. Monica Smith.
