Saturday Market Newsletter February 2025
A New Market Season
Getting Ready for the 2025 Market
The Main Street Saturday Market is popular with both customers and vendors. We receive questions year-round from growers, makers, crafters, and bakers hoping to get into the market as new vendors. We appreciate how many of you have products to sell, but we also face having a limited space around the square. Some of our vendors have been with the market since it opened years ago; some just started with us last season. We do not rotate vendors out just because they have at the market for a long time. We keep successful vendors with strong customers support because we know they will continue to bring good products.
Our policy is also to limit the number of vendors in any one category, but we always look for new products. If you have a quality product that you make or grow (not a service) we encourage you to submit an application for 2025.
On February 4, the link for new market vendors will be open. Link to Market Application. Read the Market Vendor Guidelines posted on the webpage and the closed product list before you submit your application.
List of Products Not Open for 2025-We are filled in these categories.
Spring Vinegar Forage with Barefoot Acres Farms
Tricia, at Barefoot Acres Herbs (and one of our popular Saturday Market vendors) is hosting a spring forage. You can register at the link below on her new website. Here's Tricia's description:
"Spring is my favorite time of year to forage for plant vinegars and oxymels. There is so much nutrition and life emerging from the earth. Just think how much energy it takes for these plants to wake up and burst forth. Tons."
"Join us as we learn the herbs of Spring. These plants, sadly, are often referred to as weeds. They are actually full of minerals and antioxidants to detox our bodies after months of sedentary activity (there is an oxymoron for you)."
"Upon arrival, we’ll venture out on the property to identify and harvest, while learning the herb’s benefits. Next, we’ll come back to the kitchen to rinse, chop, and craft a vinegar, as well as taste-testing some winter vinegars from the cabinet. You will take home your own quart (don’t forget to bring your own jar!) of Spring vinegar from the day."
"Bring a pair of mucky shoes for crossing the creek. There is plenty to find without mucky shoes so opting out is fine."
Workshop Dates: Friday, March 14, 10am-12pm or Saturday the 15th, 10am-12pm. Click here to register.

Winter Market Vendors at The Hamery
If you can't wait until May, remember that a number of our Saturday Market vendors are set up on Saturday mornings from 8-11 in front of The Hamery (on Lytle Street in Murfreesboro). They have locally raised meat, greens, carrots, and even some fire cider oxymel. Let's keep supporting our local farmers and growers throughout the year.
